Flanner and Buchanan Memorial Day Service

INDIANAPOLIS – Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers will conduct a Memorial Day service on May 26, at the Hoosier Patriot Memorial on the grounds of Washington Park East, 10612 East Washington St. Services begin at 10:00 a.m. and the public is invited to attend.
Speakers for the event will include Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann, Honorable Gregory A. Ballard, Mayor of Indianapolis, and Major General R. Martin Umbarger, the Adjutant General of Indiana.
The ceremony will include the sounds of the 38th Divison Brass Quintet and a three volley salute honoring our nations fallen Soldier, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.

Free Museum Admission for Military Personnel

INDIANAPOLIS — The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site is one of more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2014. The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage and learn more about their new communities after a military move.
The Benjamin Harrison Home is located at 1230 N. Delaware St. Open to the public as an educational and historical service, the Site seeks to promote patriotism and citizenship through appropriate educational activities and by artfully exhibiting the Victorian time period as Harrison and his family might have experienced it.
