Indiana Pacers Bring Google Glass Technology to Central Library

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Public Library has received a donation from the Indiana Pacers of two Google Glasses, the optical head-mounted display device, for ongoing public training at Central Library downtown, 40 E. St. Clair Street. The announcement was made during a free public demonstration of Google Glass on April 17 at Central Library conducted by Pacers representatives.
Library visitors learned about and experienced the new technology featured at recent Pacers games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Google Glass displays information in a hands-free format that allows wearers to communicate with the Internet by using voice commands.
In addition to the demonstration in Central Library’s Atrium, individuals had an opportunity for one-on-one, hands-on instruction from trained Library staff and had their photos taken while wearing Google Glass.
