Steve Smith’s Works at GBC

GREENFIELD — The works of Steve Smith will be on display at the Greenfield Banking Center Gallery throughout the month. Smith is a 38-year resident of Hancock County who lives in Sugar Creek Township with his wife, Barbara. Together they own an insurance agency in New Palestine. Steve took private lessons in oil painting for a short time in the mid-1970’s and started painting again in 2002 after taking a 22-year break to build a business and raise children. He paints realistically in oils – landscape and still life. Steve has studied at the Indianapolis Art Center, Herron School of Art, Taos Institute of Arts, and the Stutz Art Center. He is a member of Hancock County Arts Council, Indiana Plein Air Painters and Hoosier Salon. Steve maintains a studio in the Creative Arts and Event Center in Greenfield (the old Masonic Lodge) at 2 W. Main Street.
