INDIANAPOLIS — Girl Scouts of Central Indiana delivered more than 77,000 packages of Girl Scout Cookies to soldiers as part of Operation: Cookie Drop on April 9.
Brigadier General Brian Copes, Chief of the Joint Staff, was on hand to participate in the delivery. Soldiers from the Indiana National Guard, Army Reserves, Marine Corps Reserves, and Naval Reserves from across central Indiana picked up the cookies at Stout Field and took them back to their local armories.
Later that day at 2 p.m., more than 24,000 packages of Girl Scout cookies were delivered to Camp Atterbury. and the remaining cookies will be delivered to Fort Knox and Fort Campbell.
The Girl Scout cookies were donated by the community to show support for our military troops. Last year, the community purchased more than 70,000 packages of Girl Scout Cookies for Operation: Cookie Drop. Delivery services for Operation: Cookie Drop have been donated by Planes Companies.
