Tech Choirs Going to Disney World!

The Tech Choirs have done it— they have raised enough money to go to Disney World and perform on stage during Spring Break! We are all so proud of them. The Weekly View staff enjoyed one of their benefit concerts at our Christmas Party and they were so entertaining and so talented, we know they are going to make Indy proud when they perform at Disney World.
These are the plans given by their amazing music directors Cindy Hartshorn and Kandy Brown. “We will depart Indianapolis at 5:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31, by bus arriving in Orlando around noon on Monday. We’ll spend the afternoon visiting Downtown Disney, and eating dinner at Planet Hollywood. Then we plan to go back and enjoy the amenities of the hotel, giving the students a chance to relax, swim, check out the hotel shops and arcades, and go to bed early!  On Tuesday, we plan to be at the Magic Kingdom Gates when they open, spending the entire day there. Wednesday, we’ll be up bright and early to go to Disney Hollywood Studios until evening.  We will then get ready for our first performance.  The Techoir will sing on the Waterside Stage at 9:00 p.m. During the show, they will be accompanied by Gisele Dollinger on piano and ATHS band director Brandon Anderson on drums. Then back to close out the parks for the night!  On Thursday, we’ll spend the day at Animal Kingdom and culminate in another performance at 7:45 p.m. by the Technicians Show Choir —then back to the Magic Kingdom till it closes! On Friday, we load the buses in the morning and head out to spend the day at EPCOT. When it closes, we’ll re-board the buses and head down the highway to Indy.”
“Many, many thanks to the outpouring of support from our community!   This trip was made possible due to two things — the hard work of our students, who performed for months at benefit events, and to the wonderful friends, churches, local businesses, alumni, and even strangers, who reached out their hands to help us achieve this goal.  Thanks to great publicity, we’ve received donations from all sorts of folks!  Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream possible for us!”
If you would like to see the Tech Choirs before they leave, their last concert is at the Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 Johnson Ave., Sunday, March 24th at 6:00 p.m. They could use a little spending money and they need luggage – so if you have a big bag to spare, bring it or call Cindy at 317-627-9567 (hartshoc@ips.k12.in.us) to make arrangements.
