Wind Blows Wall Down on East Side

A wall of the building at 1008 N. Emerson fell into the street on Feb. 14. The building, partly demolished to make way for a gas station, succumbed to high winds. The owner of the property withdrew a site plan from the Board of Zoning Appeals on Feb. 10 and is re-drawing the plans so they do not need variances. Since the wall fell, the rest of the building was demolished.
A worker who was marking gas lines along Emerson was near the building when the wall fell, narrowly escaping falling debris.
