INDIANAPOLIS — The Holy Spirit Catholic Church Summer Festival and Monte Carlo will be held July 10-12 on parish grounds at 7243 E. 10th St. Hours are 5:30-11:00 p.m. on Thurs., 5:30-midnight on Fri., and 1 p.m.-midnight on Sat.
The annual festival features more than 30 church booths with food, crafts, and other items. There are the ever-popular carnival games and rides for all ages. Booths featuring Mexican, Filipino, and Greek food compete with traditional festival fare such as corn on the cob, award-winning brownies, elephant ears, and pizza. Homemade family dinners will be prepared by Holy Spirit volunteers for only $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Dinners include two sides and a drink and are served from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each evening. Pork chops are featured Thurs., a fish fry on Fri., and pulled pork on Sat.
The Rose Garden, sponsored by Manley’s Irish Mutt, will feature international entertainment every night from 6-7 p.m. and on Sat. from 8:30-11:30. Thursday evening features Mojo Gumbo at 8 p.m., and the Connoisseurs play Friday at 9 p.m. On Saturday, the Scecina Rock Band will perform from 1-3 p.m. and Keven Rafferty’s New Trio will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. In between, many great local bands will play original music and covers.
Holy Spirit Summer Festival is well known for its huge rummage sale and silent auctions, plus their raffle. Cash prizes totaling thousands will be awarded over the three-day period in jackpot drawings. TVs and bikes can also be won in drawings throughout the long weekend.
Games of chance including bingo, Texas poker, Monte Carlo, and many more are available. There’s also a corn hole tournament on Sat. at 1 p.m. (registration begins at noon for the first 24 teams).
Festival parking is available at the Crossroads Bible College at 601 N. Shortridge Rd. and at the southeast corner of Gold’s Gym on Shortridge and Washington St. A continuous shuttle bus service will be provided each evening from 5:30 p.m. to close. Uniformed security will patrol the parking lots and grounds during the festival.
