INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Repertory Theatre will celebrate the holiday season with its annual tradition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, presented by Oxford Financial Group, Ltd. The cherished classic runs Nov. 14 – Dec. 26 on the OneAmerica Financial Stage. Returning to direct for a third year is native Hoosier and IRT’s Associate Artistic Director cara hinh.
The IRT’s adaptation of Dickens’s novella was written by former IRT Artistic Director Tom Haas and was produced at the IRT every year from 1980 through 1984. After a twelve-year hiatus, the play was brought back in 1996, with this year marking its 35th production. The story shines a light on the power of kindness, love, forgiveness, and change as it follows one man’s journey to redemption.
The IRT’s snow-covered stage will see many actors returning for this timeless tale, including Rob Johansen for his eighteenth Carol, Ryan Artzberger for his twenty-first, Jen Johansen for her fifteenth, Sean Blake for his fourth, Alyssa Naka Silver for their second, and J.T. Wood in his second, after having been a child actor in Carol in the 2005–2006 Season.
New faces joining the cast are Hannah Embree returning to the IRT after starring in last season’s hit musical Come From Away, Delaney Feener returning to the IRT after starring in the 2024–2025 production of The Glass Menagerie, and Michael Thanh Trần making his IRT and Carol debut.
The Indiana Repertory Theatre is located at 140 W. Washington St. Tickets and performance schedule available at IRTlive.com.
