LAWRENCE — Following several project delays related to utility work, the City of Lawrence has received confirmation that the remaining utility work at 75th Street and Oaklandon Road is expected to be completed and turned over to the contractor, Howard Companies, on Monday, Aug. 17.
Beginning August 17, the intersection will be fully closed so construction of the new roundabout can begin. The full closure is currently expected to last approximately 60 to 90 days, depending on weather and construction conditions.
Road closure signs will be updated in advance to reflect the new closure date. If you regularly travel through this intersection, now is a good time to begin planning for detours and alternate routes.
