INDIANAPOLIS — Film historian Eric Grayson will screen Duck Soup, the third of three Marx Brothers’ comedies to be shown at Garfield Park this winter. The 1933 farce will be the March Vintage Movie Night on March 29, at 7 p.m.
The film stars the four Marx Brothers and their frequent co-star, Margaret Dumont. It involves the countries of Freedonia and Sylvania, who go to war against one another. Grayson describes it as “the most insane version of war ever seen on the screen.” Plus, he will provide a reel of trailers of Marx Brothers films (some of which never made it to the movies they are promoting!).
All films are family-friendly. Admission is $5; concessions $1. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Free parking. For more information, call 317.327.7135 or visit www.gpacarts.org.
Grayson is a film historian, collector, and preservationist. Read his blog at www.drfilm.net/blog. More information on Grayson may be found at www.filmeric.com. For a discussion of classic films (many in his personal collection) and the still-pending Dr. Film TV show, visit www.drfilm.net/facebook.
