Domestic Violence Resource Fair on Friday, Oct. 3

INDIANAPOLIS —  Damien Center and the Domestic Violence Prevention Network (DVPN) are partnering during Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October to host a Domestic Violence Resiliency Resource Fair as part of October’s First Friday at Cafe Oztara, 1446 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. The event takes place on Friday, Oct. 3, from 6 – 8 p.m.
The evening will feature a panel discussion with members from DVPN highlighting their work to prevent domestic violence in the Indianapolis community. Damien Center will also share how healing arts play a role in providing trauma-informed care for survivors of domestic violence.
Guests can explore and purchase artwork from the Remembrance/Resilience, an exhibition amplifying the voices and stories of individuals who have experienced domestic violence.
As part of the event, artist Patricia Fulton will lead a community healing arts project where attendees can contribute to a collaborative weaving that will remain on permanent display at Cafe Oztara as a symbol of strength and connection.
Local organizations including DVPN and Firefly Children and Family Alliance will be on-site with information and resources for attendees. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.cafeoztara.com.
