CUMBERLAND — RM Media will present award-winning singer songwriter Jason Harrod in concert on Friday, Aug. 8 in the historic Cumberland First Baptist Church Sanctuary (116 S. Muessing St., Cumberland). Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the opening act Aaron Lipp taking the stage at 7:00 p.m. Jason Harrod follows at 7:30 p.m. for an evening of intimate acoustic folk infused with blues and country grooves.
Jason Harrod, originally from Durham, North Carolina, has earned critical acclaim for his soulful storytelling and masterful guitar work. Jason was a finalist in MerleFest’s Chris Austin Songwriting competition and won first place in the North Carolina Songwriters Co-op contest. In 2012 he received a Fulbright grant to teach songwriting to students in Thessaloniki, Greece. He has recently returned to full-time touring.
Joining him is Indianapolis based folk artist Aaron Lipp, whose gentle finger picked melodies and warm vocal delivery make him the perfect companion for an intimate acoustic evening.
