IRVINGTON —The Irvington Garden Club & Farmers Market will present their 25th Annual Garden Tour on June 29 from 1-5 p.m. Since their first tour in 2000, they’ve highlighted the best gardens in historic Irvington. This year they will continue that tradition.
Gardens in Irvington tend to be shade gardens, given the majestic trees that shade the historic neighborhood. However, you may find delightful sunny spots with bright blasts of color and clever landscaping. Every year is a different journey through the neighborhood.
In addition, you will have the chance to talk to the homeowners themselves about plant choices, themes, and their gardening passions. Those conversations can be source of information and inspiration.
Tickets are $10, and can be purchased now online a https://irvington-garden-club.square.site/ , or two weeks in advance at Ace Hardware (1025 N. Arlington) or Black Sheep Gifts (5626 E Washington).
Tickets on the day can be purchased by card at the Benton House (312 S Downey), Bona Thompson Center (5350 E University), and the main shuttle stop at the Irvington Public Library (10 S Audubon). All other stops will only accept cash.
Irvington United Methodist Church (30 N. Audubon) is having their annual Strawberry Festival that afternoon so make that another stop on your afternoon!
Guests have the option to purchase a shuttle ticket for an additional $5. The main shuttle drop off/pick up will be in the parking lot of the Irvington Public Library with free parking available in the library’s parking lot as well as the Irvington Presbyterian Church’s parking lot. The shuttle will stop at each of the ten gardens on the tour and will operate on a hop on/hop off model. You can also buy the ticket on the day or in advance at the ticket link.
The Irvington Garden Club hosts the tour. Proceeds go to support beautification efforts in the community.
