INDIANAPOLIS — Statewide walk coordinator Indiana Association of Community Economic Development (IACED) and the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) are giving Hoosiers the chance to raise money to fight homelessness in Indiana. The Central Indiana Homeward Bound Walk is Saturday, March 8 at the Indianapolis City Market, 222 East Market Street in Indianapolis. It starts at 3 p.m., with day-of registration beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Sponsored by Managed Health Services (MHS), the one-mile walk is raising money to support organizations working to prevent and end homelessness in central Indiana. The walk is free, but a minimum $25 donation is encouraged and appreciated. Participants who donate $25 will get a commemorative shirt to help further spread the word about how the community is tackling homelessness.
All walk proceeds go to the following benefiting agencies: Aspire Indiana, Dayspring Center, Family Promise, Gennesaret Free Clinics, Homeless Initiative Program, Horizon House and Midtown Community Mental Health Center.
Family activities also take place from 1:30-3 p.m., including a DJ, prizes, play zone, food trucks and special guest speakers.
