INDIANAPOLIS — The Lawrence Township 4-Hers are embarking on their biggest fundraiser of the year — the annual 4-H Geranium Sale. Orders are being taken now through Monday, March 10, 2014. Four inch pots are $1.50 each or $18.00 for a flat of 12. Flowers are available in red, white, violet, salmon, and pink.
Club Leader Bev Fudge said, “Proceeds from our geranium sale help us continuously provide these experiences. In the next few months, 4-H members will be having hands-on learning with floral arranging and robotics, and our fund raising makes that possible. But selling the plants is a learning experience too as it involves making a sales presentation and interacting with potential customers. We appreciate the community’s support of 4-H and our members, and thank everyone who buys geraniums this year!”
Lawrence Township 4-H is a year-round program, culminating with the Lawrence Township and Marion County 4-H Fairs in June and the Indiana State Fair in August. During the school year, 4-H members participate in community service projects, attend monthly meetings and develop leadership, academic, and technical skills by working on their choice of over 60 different projects offered by Purdue Extension – Marion County 4-H Youth Development.
