INDIANAPOLIS — The site of the former Marion County Jail will be transformed into a nearly $80 million Indiana Fever practice and training facility.
Pacers Sports & Entertainment plans to break ground this summer on the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center near the intersection of East Maryland and Delaware streets. The site is near Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and the center will be part of the PS&E campus, connected by a skybridge to the Virginia Ave. parking garage and the fieldhouse.
The three-story structure will hold more than 100,000-square-feet is slated to open prior to the 2027 WNBA season. Amenities to be included in the facility include two regulation basketball courts, state-of-the-art strength and conditioning equipment, private outdoor courtyard and mental performance spaces. There will also be a full-service kitchen. In addition, the facility will have a yoga and Pilates area, a “retreat” area for massage and other therapies, plus a hair and nail salon. There will also be a childcare space, as well as a podcast and content production studio.
The Indiana Fever will tip off the 2025 WNBA season on May 17 against the Chicago Sky.
