INDIANAPOLIS — Damar Services is hosting a free Sensory Snow Day on Saturday, Dec. 7 so all families can experience the joy of the season in a sensory-friendly environment.
Without loud noises, bright flashing lights and other components that could be upsetting, Damar’s Sensory Snow Day allows individuals with sensory sensitivities and their families to kick off the holiday season with a wide range of festivities that are attuned to their comfort zones.
This year’s event has a “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” theme and will feature such activities as a Whoville games, a bounce house, facepainting, crafts and sweet treats. There will also be face painting, ongoing shows of the Grinch movie, make and take ornaments and stockings, sweet treats, and calm-down ones with sensory bins and soft seating.
Sensory Snow Day begins with a 9 to 10 a.m. calm hour, and 10 a.m. to noon will be hours devoted to festivities. Damar Village Activity Center is located at 6045 Remarkable Way.
