INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) recently announced the removal of a community recycling drop-off site at the Kroger located at 8150 Rockville Rd. at the request of the property owner. The two roll-off recycling bins will each be relocated to two of the busiest existing drop-off recycling sites in order to accommodate demand.
Signs have been installed at the Kroger location to inform community members that the site has closed and explain how to find a different recycling location. The nearest recycling site to this Kroger is located at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, 3737 Waldemere Ave.
Downtown, recycling is available at Old City Hall (North parking lot), 202 N. Alabama St. On the east side, recycle locations include John Marshall Community High School, 10101 E. 38th St. and Washington Square Mall, 10280 E. Washington St. On the south side, recycling centers include Southwestway Park, 8400 S. Mann Rd., Beck Service Center, 6025 Madison Ave., Garfield Park, 2345 Pagoda Dr., Kroger (Franklin and Southport), 8130 E. Southport Rd., and Kroger (Emerson and County Line), 8745 S. Emerson Ave. On the north side, recycling centers are located at Sahm Park, 6801 E. 91st St., Kroger (79th and Fall Creek), 9835 Fall Creek Rd., Broad Ripple Park, Evanston Ave Entrance, 6350 Evanston Ave., Kroger (E. 71st and Binford), 5810 E. 71st St. Rear of the store, access via the east lot, Kroger (Pendleton Pike and Sunnyside), 11101 Pendleton Pike.
Community members are reminded that drop-off locations across the city are for disposing of recyclable materials only. All materials must be loose, clean, and dry and all cardboard boxes must be flattened before placing in a recycling box.
