• IMPD is offering a free steering wheel block for Kia and Hyundai vehicle owners. This is for Hyundai models from 2015-2021, and Kia models from 2011-2021, which are being stolen at a much higher rate than other cars on the road. You must reside in Indianapolis, and bring your current car registration to your local IMPD District Office (East is at 201 N. Shadeland) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday while supplies last. This offer is valid while supplies last.
• The Pennsy Trail Art and Music Festival will be held on Saturday, July 29 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Courthouse Plaza in Greenfield. Sponsored by the Mental Health Partners of Hancock County, the day-long festival will feature music, food, lots of artisan booths, and fun for the whole family. The Courthouse is located just off U.S. 40 (Washington St.).
• Bottleworks Market will be held on Saturday, July 29 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at Bottleworks, 850 E. Mass Ave. There will be lots of vendors selling artisan items, vintage clothing and artwork, plus you’ll have a chance to check out the Garage Food Hall and the many entertainment options at the completely revamped space that was once the Coca-Cola bottling plant. Parking options may be limited, so a ride share might be a good idea.
• Every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., local farmers and food producers of many kinds are available at the Fresh Market behind the Irving Theater, 5505 E. Washington St. Meat, egg, vegetable, cheese and bread vendors, among others, are likely to be there. Please help support our local food producers!
• Now’s your chance to register for Bug Fest, the annual buggy event at Southeastway Park, 5624 S. Carroll Rd. Bug Fest will be held Sunday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. and is one of the most anticipated family events of the park season. Learn all about insects and creepy-crawlies and earn an honorary degree in Bugology. There will be food trucks, face painting, and lots of opportunities for crafts and walks. Admission is $10 per car, cash only, or pre-register online at www.indyparks.org.
• There will be free Moose Tracks ice cream at Monument Circle on Friday, July 28 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Every FREE ice cream you eat generates $1 for the Salvation Army. Organizers hope to scoop 10,000 scoops at the southeast quadrant, 99 Monument Circle.
