INDIANAPOLIS – Curtis Bigsbee, vice president of the Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees, has announced his resignation from the board. Bigsbee’s departure was necessitated by his relocation to a residence outside of Marion County as of Friday, March 10; legal residence within Marion County is a requirement for appointment to municipal boards.
IndyPL’s board president, Hope Tribble, offered her appreciation for Bigsbee’s service, saying, “Curtis has been a tremendous advocate for IndyPL during his three years on the board. He cares deeply about the Library’s staff and patrons and his commitment to supporting positive changes within IndyPL on their behalf was reflected in every decision he made as a trustee. His leadership will be missed.”
Following the City-County Council’s March 6 confirmation of the appointment of Dr. Eugene White as an IndyPL trustee, Bigsbee’s resignation leaves a single vacancy on the IndyPL board. The timeline for the Marion County Board of Commissioners’ appointment of Bigsbee’s replacement is not yet known.
