INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Transportation, recently announced that work on the North Split project could last until at least April of 2023.
Interstate 70 could be open to traffic in early- to mid-January and Interstate 65 by the end of April. The timeline is dependent on several factors, including weather, supply chain issues, and workforce shortages.
Construction on the project began late is 2020, and included numerous ramp closures and street closures, affecting streets on the east side, including 10th and Michigan as bridges were demolished and reconstructed.
INDOT also announced that the ramp from Rural Street and Keystone Avenue to westbound I-70 is expected to reopen by the end of 2022.
