INDIANAPOLIS — The Safety Community Action Team of the Near East Quality of Life Plan will present free opioid overdose training on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Springdale Room of the John H. Boner Center, 2236 E. 10th St. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required online at www.eventbrite.com/e/narcan-training-tickets-211794100857
The end of the year is a prime time for opiate overuse and other types of extra-medicinal drug use. The class will teach what to do if you suspect someone has overdosed on an opioid, and to be prepared with a dose of naloxene (Narcan) to save a life. The class will be taught by a credentialed instructor. Legal aspects of opioid reversal application and safe drug use practices will also be discussed.
There is no minimum age limit for attendance.
