INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis officials recently stated that they are aiming for a 50% or better vaccination rate in Marion County by July 4 in order to consider fully opening the city back up. As of June 6, only 37% of Marion County residents were fully vaccinated. In Hancock County, the rate is 52% and in Hamilton County, 55% of residents are fully vaccinated.
Officials also noted that public pools can open with 100% capacity, and golf courses can open to 75% capacity. Churches can open to 100% capacity, while restrictions have been reduced for entertainment venues, large gatherings, and indoor service at bars and restaurants.
Vaccine clinics for teens 12-17 and their family members will be held on Saturday, June 12 at Arsenal Tech High School from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with a second dose clinic on July 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Warren Central High School will host a clinic on Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and a second dose clinic on July 17 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Parental or guardian consent is required for a minor to be given the vaccine.
