INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) customer has won a $250 gift card by recycling their old refrigerator during the IPL Recycle & Win promotion. Indianapolis resident Virginia Depanger in addition to the $250 gift card she also received a $30 incentive check for recycling her outdated unit with IPL’s Ditch Your Fridge program. Virginia can apply her prize toward the purchase of ENERGY STAR efficient appliances at local retailers throughout IPL territory if she chooses.
While the Recycle & Win promotion has concluded, the Ditch Your Fridge appliance recycling program is available year-round to IPL customers. This program offers complimentary home pick-up of energy-wasting refrigerators and freezers, and pays a $30 incentive for each unit recycled.
IPL customers can participate in the Ditch Your Fridge program by calling 877-395-5535, or by visiting IPLpower.com/DitchYourFridge, to schedule a time for an at-home pick-up.
Refrigerators and stand-alone freezers must be in working condition and between 10 and 30 cubic feet in size — standard size for most units. A check for $30 will arrive within six weeks of pick-up. A maximum of two units per household per year will be accepted.
