INDIANAPOLIS — The IndyGo Red Line project continues construction into July, with several updates. IndyGo’s goal is to open the Red Line in September. As with all construction, expect delays and lane closures..
Pavement markings are being installed on Capitol Avenue between 18th and Washington Streets. Work will occur mostly during the evening and overnight hours (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.).
Pavement markings for a new two-way bike lane on Illinois Street will be installed over the next two weeks. Work will occur mostly during the evening and overnight hours.
Pavement resurfacing is continuing on College Avenue. Work will continue south of Broad Ripple Avenue to 38th Street, taking approximately three weeks to complete. Temporary on-street parking and traffic restrictions will be required in work areas. At times, drivers may be diverted off College Avenue.
Final surfaces will be placed at each station platform over the next two weeks. Short-term lane closures will be required at each location during this work. The 54th and 46th Street stations are scheduled for this week.
Pavement resurfacing will begin on Meridian Street on or after July 10. Temporary on-street parking and traffic restrictions will be required in work areas.
Work at the station areas on Virginia Ave. will require temporary lane restrictions over the next two weeks.
Pavement markings will be installed on Delaware Street between Maryland and Washington Streets.
