Applause!: Oct. 26-Nov. 1

• Thank you to the 200-plus who came out the “Whispers From the Grave” presentation at the Irving Theatre on Oct. 20. The reading were powerful, the graphics terrific, and everyone really loved the stories and the professionalism of the readers Julie Patterson, Nicole Misencik, Brandon Kline, Ed Wenck, Dave Wilson, and Jo Moore. A couple of Georgiana Yoke’s descendants came to hear the words of their ancestor. Al, Rhonda, and the entire crew, plus Dale Harkins at the Irving, pulled it together in a few weeks and it was great! There’s even talk that they’ll do it again next year.
•  The high winds of Oct. 20 knocked out power and caused quite a bit of damage to our beloved trees. As winter approaches and the risk of ice storms, blizzards, and the like increases, the City reminds everyone to report downed trees and branches in the right-of-way to Request Indy or call non-emergency at 317-327-3811.
• The Dig Indy project will impact the intersection at 10th and E. Kealing through Jan. 31. There will be detours clearly posted around the work site.
