INDIANA — The nonprofit organization awards the Cook Cup to the owner of a historic structure that has been restored following the highest standards in method, materials and design. The selection committee looks for a restoration that has had a significant, beneficial impact on its neighborhood or community.
The nominee may be an individual, corporation or partnership, nonprofit organization or a governmental entity. The restoration must have been completed within the past two years, and the structure must be in active use. Anyone may submit a nomination — the owner, architect, engineer, contractor, neighbor, appreciative citizen.
Previous winners have included Butler University for the renovation of Hinkle Fieldhouse, the City of Elkhart for the Lerner Theatre restoration, and the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne for the restoration of Brookside Mansion.
The Cook Cup winner will receive an engraved silver cup on April 30, at Indiana Landmarks’ annual Rescue Party in Indianapolis. Nomination forms are available at http://bit.ly/ILawards. The deadline for nominations is January 25, 2016.
