INDIANAPOLIS — On Nov, 10 from 7-8 p.m. at 1525 N. Ritter, the City will be presenting their 60% design plans for East 10th St between Emerson and Arlington. Dinner will be served at the meeting. The project, inspired by Community Heights’ successful tactical urbanism project in 2023, includes milling and resurfacing the entire area and adding median islands and protections for the bike lanes. Community feedback on the plans is encouraged.
Community Heights Neighborhood Association spearheaded the 2023 project to calm traffic and curb reckless driving between Arlington and Emerson. The results of the project were significant: Crashes declined about 74%, and vehicle speeds dropped, making the area safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
