LAWRENCE — Mayor Deb Whitfield recently announced that the City of Lawrence has been awarded by AES Indiana $88,861.00 under their EV Charging Rebate Program. The Program will fund eight EV Chargers at the Lawrence Police Department and two EV Chargers at Station 38 of the Lawrence Fire Department.
AES’s EV Charging Rebates for Business Program offers financial rebates to offset the cost of installing Level 2 or DC Fast Charging for Public Use EVs. Public Use EVs are defined as vehicles used primarily to deliver goods or services to the public, such as school buses, transit buses, and public safety vehicles.
Installation of the EV Chargers began at the Lawrence Police Department.
