Applause!: Dec. 12-18

• Cops and Cocoa will meet on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m.-noon at the Irvington Library Branch, 10 S. Audubon. Join local police officers for a friendly chat and holiday cheer.
• On December 13, Next Step Beech Grove will hold Polar Express 2025. From noon-1:30 p.m., participating Main Street businesses will be handing out candy and leading other fun holiday activities. Next Stop, Beech Grove focuses on Main Street, and strives to revitalize and promote the community’s cultural history, while encouraging growth, historic preservation, and sustainability.
• Garfield Park Winter Arts Market will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 from noon-5 p.m. at the Garfield Arts Center, 2432 Conservatory Dr. There will be lots of artisan vendors, treats from Parkside Public House.
• The Eiteljorg Museum’s Winter Markets are a great place to find unique gifts. On select Saturdays during Jingle Rails: The Great Western Adventure, browse the works of talented local artists offering a curated selection of handcrafted items. From candles and artwork to prints and sculptures, you will surely find one-of-a-kind gifts perfect for the holiday season. The next two markets will be on Dec. 13 and 20, featuring local Indianapolis artists and Native artists. Admission includes access to the Winter Market, and the beloved Jingle Rails exhibit. • The Free Sled Library in Lawrence is back! Stop by the little red sled container next to the sledding hill at Lawrence Community Park, 5301 N. Franklin Rd .and borrow a sled anytime. Please remember to return sleds to the container when you’re done so everyone can enjoy the fun.
• Buck Creek Players is presenting the classic murder mystery play The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased at www.buckcreekplayers.com. The show runs through Dec. 14 at the Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Ave.
• Big Car is developing a new contemporary art museum in a 125 year old dairy barn at 1125 Cruft St. The museum will be about 40,000 square feet, and will have six exhibition spaces and galleries, 18 artist studios, storefronts for businesses, a performance space and a cafe. They plan to open in early May.
• The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis will offer Winter Break Camps at all locations for kids 5-12 years of age. There will be seasonal activities, hands-on projects, and more. Prices are reasonable. Enroll now at indymca.org/youth-development-center/camp/schools-out-camp/
• Martin University has announced that it will pause the university’s operations at the end of the current semester. The university is experiencing financial and student enrollment challenges.
