IRT Presents Annual Classic “A Christmas Carol”

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Repertory Theatre is celebrating the holiday season with its annual tradition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, presented by Oxford Financial. The cherished classic runs now through December 24 on the OneAmerica Financial Stage. Returning to direct for a second year is native Hoosier and IRT’s Associate Artistic Director cara hinh.
The IRT’s adaptation of Dickens’s novella was written by former IRT Artistic Director Tom Haas and produced at the IRT every year from 1980 through 1984. After a twelve-year hiatus, the play was brought back in 1996 and is now making its 34th appearance. The story shines a light on the power of kindness, love, forgiveness, and change as it follows one man’s journey to redemption.
Many actors from previous years are returning to the snow-covered stage, including Ryan Artzberger, Kayla Carter, Kenneth La’Ron Hamilton, Jen Johansen, Rob Johansen, and Natasia Reinhardt. Joining the cast are Hernán Angulo, Cleo Berry, Alyssa Naka Silver, and multiple youth actors: Kerah Jackson, Vivian Morton, Sofia Perlaza, and Cate Thomas. The understudies are Austin Hookfin, Matt Kraft, Isabelle McNamara-Angel, and Sofia Salgado.
