Food Giveaways Ongoing

INDIANAPOLIS — Even with SNAP benefits being resumed, there are many who cannot afford food for their families or themselves. The Office of Public Health and Safety has organized food giveaways to help Hoosiers. The events will be held:
• Tuesday, Nov. 25 from noon-2:30 p.m. at Breeding Tabernacle CME, 3670 N. Leland Ave.
• Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 3-5 p.m. at Stanley Strader, 2850 Bethel Ave.
Indy Parks also has a free food and meal program you can enroll in. Visit https://parks.indy.gov/programs/free-meals-programs/ for more information on how you can sign-up.
As always, there BIG Red Box Project has emergency food access 24/7 at 4 locations:
• 30 N Audubon Circle Irvington UMC
• Community Hospital, 16th and Ritter
• Downey Street Christian Church, 111 S Downey Ave.
• Good Shepherd, 2015 S. Arlington
They need donations of non-perishable food such as soups, crackers, cereal, canned hams, proteins, and much more. If you are able, please stock these shelves. No fresh vegetables or fruit — they will rot.
