• Indy Community Pantry fridge locations are 1001 Eugene, 2851 Madison Ave., Avondale Meadows Middle School at 3980 Meadows Dr., and Purdue Polytech High School, 3029 E. Washington St. These pantries stock fresh foods, milk, and other necessities for our community in need. More fridge locations will be added soon to the northside, east side and far eastside. • There will be an Irvington Community Council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. The Council will discuss several topics, including the proposed Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas (DORAs) that would encompass S. Audubon to E. Washington to Ritter establishments. This DORA would be the first in Indianapolis, and would allow people to have alcohol in marked cups from participating business on the streets in the area. City-County Council member Andy Nielsen is leading the charge on this proposal.
• Indiana has released partial SNAP benefits, up to 50% of the full amount. For many families, elderly, and disabled people, this won’t be enough to get them through. Please continue to support our local food pantries and the BIG Red Boxes on the east side — your generosity is truly appreciated.
• The Indiana Music History Project has completed 50 oral history interviews of Indiana music icons. The project includes in-depth video interviews with musicians and people from the music businesses connected to Indiana’s musical history. The videos are being archived and are beginning to go online on Facebook and Instagram pages in short clips and full length online at indianafound.org.
• The Fort Ben Winter Market is open on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. at the Lawrence Community Center, 5301 N. Franklin Rd. Produce, personal care items, and crafts are available in the market.
• The Indianapolis Women’s Chorus will perform “Beauty Within” concert on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Warren Center for the Performing Arts, 9500 E 16th St. They will be performing songs that celebrate the beauty within. Tickets are $30 per person, and children under 12 are free. Visit universe.com and search for “Beauty Within.”
• A Veteran’s Appreciation Car Show will be held on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at 3915 Madison Ave. There will be many awards for classic cars, and a Veterans Appreciation Award.
• The BIRTH Fund offers cash assistance to pregnant women in high infant mortality zip codes — 46241, 46222, 46237, 46218, 46201, and 46235 — who have a household income less than $39,000.
