Halloween Festival Week Kicks Off with Wellness Fair

IRVINGTON — The 2025 Irvington Halloween Festival features an event that is anything but scary: a Wellness Fair sponsored by Irvington Presbyterian Church and the Irvington Halloween Festival Committee.
You’ll find free, easy access to health screenings, Flu Shots, HIV testing, Fasting Blood Glucose screening  and other health-related services at the Halloween Festival Wellness Fair on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 Johnson Ave. The Wellness Fair will be easy to find in the parking lot behind the Irvington Library, where Community East Hospital, Jane Pauley Community Health Center, ICAN, BeSmart Gun Safety, the Indianapolis Fire Department, Overdose Lifeline, Irvington churches and others are coming together to provide a long menu of free services.
Besides flu shots and screenings, you can access mental health services and learn about the prevention and treatment of a variety of conditions, such as stroke, diabetes, heart failure and others. You can also learn about wound care, maternity services, elder care, gun safety, nutrition, chiropractic care, dental care, and fire safety.  And you can learn about community engagement opportunities at Community East Hospital, ICAN, Irvington Arts Collective, Soul Food Project/Urban Farm and register for the Vampire Run and pick up your Vampire Run packet.
The Over the Counter/Prescription Drug Take Back will be returning.  This was a big hit last year, so don’t forget to bring your expired and no longer needed medications to have them disposed of safely.  There will be giveaways of bike helmets, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire blankets and first aid kits.  And don’t forget to register to give the lifesaving gift of blood by donating at the Versiti mobile unit.
