INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Fringe audiences will experience not one, but two apocalyptic adventures from award-winning playwright and performer Tim Mooney. For just three performances at The District Theatre’s Cabaret space, Mooney will present his acclaimed one-man sci-fi climate change tragicomedy Man Cave alongside the world premiere of its brand-new sequel, Man Cave II.
Tim Mooney, founder of the Timothy Mooney Repertory Theatre, tours nationally with nine one-man shows, including Lot o’ Shakespeare, Breakneck Hamlet, and Breakneck Julius Caesar. He is the author of seventeen popular adaptations of Molière’s plays and the acting textbook Acting at the Speed of Life: Conquering Theatrical Style.
Five years ago, Mooney introduced audiences to “the last man on Earth, broadcasting to whatever Klingons, Vulcans, or Tralfamadorians might still be listening.” In Man Cave, our lone survivor hides out in a Hobbit-hole in northern Canada, sending existential warnings and a darkly funny new “Ten Commandments” to the universe.
Man Cave (Volume I) is being performed Friday, August 15 at 9:30 pm and Saturday, August 16 at 3:30 pm. The world-premier sequel, Man Cave (Volume II), is scheduled to be performed on Sunday, August 17 at 6:30 pm at The District Theatre Cabaret (627 Massachusetts Avenue)
Tickets are $20 (adults) and $14 (children). Adult language is part of the show; no one under 13 should be there!
