BEECH GROVE — Registration is now open for the 40th Anniversary Walk to Remember in Beech Grove on Saturday, October 4, hosted by Franciscan Health. Registration is open now through September 7.
This citywide event includes hundreds of families from around central Indiana who have lost children through miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn death. Participants and attendees will come together to remember and honor the babies in a service of music, poetry and reading of the infants’ names.
The entire group will walk together from Beech Grove Central Intermediate School to Sarah T. Bolton Park, with the street filled with families, strollers, and wagons. Participants who cannot walk may drive.
Those who register in advance will receive a charm, which this year will be ruby colored for the 40th anniversary, a program booklet, with the baby they are remembering listed in the program and an opportunity to purchase additional items.
Walk to Remember is a time when families from all over Indianapolis and Central Indiana come together to remember and celebrate the lives of their babies that have ended all too soon. Some families may have recently lost a baby; others have been coming on this special day since the first walk in 1985.
