INDIANAPOLIS — The Justice Advocacy Team of Irvington Presbyterian Church and the Irvington Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library have partnered again for a study and
community discussion of the book “Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that addicted America” by Beth Macy. Macy offers a comprehensive and heartbreaking account of America’s opioid crisis. The book interweaves the stories of individuals, families, and communities ravaged by addiction with the corporate greed and regulatory failures that fueled the epidemic. Ultimately, Dopesick exposes the devastating human cost of this public health disaster and highlights the ongoing struggle for treatment and recovery. This conversation is just as vital for the Irvington community.
Mark your calendars for Monday, August 11th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., as Taylor Schreibman, a member of the Justice Advocacy Team, will lead the discussion of the book at the Irvington Branch Library, 10 S. Audubon. Free copies of “Dopesick” are available at the library, while supplies last.
