highlights the WNBA All-Star game being held in Indianapolis on July 18-19. The event also featured a youth basketball clinic on the new court for Indy Parks summer campers.
As part of the WNBA All-Star Host Committee’s Legacy Projects, The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis received funding to renovate the basketball court at Al Polin Park. Upgrades included new asphalt, custom artwork that includes the WNBA 3-point line, and brand-new goals, rims, and backboards. The court itself has been completely transformed into a vibrant and playable space for the community.
The new WNBA All-Star Legacy Court is part of a larger investment in Al Polin Park. In the coming weeks, construction will begin on a $600,000 project that will build a new playground and walkways at the park. Funded through the $80 million Lilly Endowment Grant to Indy Parks, the project is scheduled for completion in mid 2026.
