INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has announced the arrival of a new mobile forensic and interview van to support the mission of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. This state-of-the-art vehicle was recently delivered and is now ready for deployment.
This project has been over two years in the making, from securing funding, to designing, and ultimately building a vehicle tailored specifically to the needs of our investigators.
“This van represents a significant step forward in our ability to protect the most vulnerable members of our community, our children,” said Chief Kendale Adams. “It gives our investigators the tools they need, right at the scene, to move quickly, preserve critical evidence, and hold offenders accountable.
The new van features a mobile digital forensic lab for on-site triage and evidence processing, and a private, purpose-built interview room equipped for audio/video recording. The van will be used to support ICAC operations during search warrants and investigations involving online crimes against children
This van allows investigators to conduct real-time digital forensic work while simultaneously interviewing potential suspects or witnesses in a secure, controlled environment.
