Applause!: July 11-17

• Helpings of Hope Farms farm stand is now open to the public.  The stand, located on the campus of the Boner Fitness & Learning Center, 727 N. Oriental Ave., will be open every Thursday from 2 – 5 p.m. All produce is locally grown, chemical free and delicious! Indiana WIC/eFMNP are accepted. • The City of Indianapolis is preparing for streetscape, intersection safety improvements and placemaking efforts along 10th Street from Tecumseh St. to Rural St and along Rural St. from 10th St to St. Clair St. An Open House to learn about this upcoming construction will take place August 13 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Boner Center at 2236 E. 10th St. (enter Door 2).
• The July Irvington Farmers Market will be held Sunday, July 13 from noon-3 at Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St. Clair. Lots of vendors will be on hand with produce, baked goods, homemade dog treats, locally made crafts, and much more. It’s a great farmers market, where you will probably see a few neighbors and friends, and lots of dogs on leashes!
• Hard to believe it’s almost time for the kids to go back to school. IPS students have until August 4, and Warren Twp. Schools goes back for K-9 students is July 24 and 10-12 grades July 25. Beech Grove students start July 30, Lawrence kids go back August 6, Greenfield-Central returns on July 30.
• Artists Gathering in the Garden will be held Sunday, July 13 from noon-3 p.m. at 5295 E. Pleasant Run Parkway. Artisans will have garden items, fall items and Christmas items for sale. Stop by and see their works.
• Summerfest, formerly known as Indiana Microbrewers Fest, will be held on Saturday, July 19 at Victory Field, 501 W. Maryland. Sample hundreds of brews, ciders, canned cocktails from Hoosier breweries. Hours are 2-7 p.m. for MVP and early entry, and 3-7 for general admission. Tickets are $105 for MVP, $80 early entry, $50 general admission. Get tickets online at drinkin.beer/event/summerfest.
• There will be a Block Pary at Andrew J. Brown Academy on Tuesday, July 15 at 4-7 p.m. The school is located at 4501 E. 32nd St. and the afternoon is a chance to tour the school, and have fun with free food, face painting, and more.
• The upcoming WNBA All-Star weekend starts July 18 with many activities downtown, music, entertainment and basketball mania. The Indiana Fever’s own Caitlin Clark will be one of the captains, and the ladies recently won the Commissioner’s Cup. The game will be held Saturday, July 19 at Gainbridge Field House at 8:30 p.m. and is sold out. If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets, you can watch it on ABC and streaming on Disney+ and ESPN+
