INDIANAPOLIS — Ain’t No Mo’ is fearless, funny, and smart — it uses biting satire to ask bold questions about race, identity, and belonging in America. The humor is outrageous, often absurd, and sharply political. The show opens June 26 and runs through July 6 at the District Theatre Mainstage, 627 Mass Ave.
Instead of one long linear story, the show unfolds through multiple short, punchy scenes featuring wildly different characters in a variety of settings — a church, a prison, a reality TV studio, even an airplane out of America. This keeps the energy moving fast and makes the show feel like a sketch comedy special crossed with a social experiment.
The lead actor plays “Peaches,” a fabulous, radical flight attendant guiding Black passengers onto the final flight out of America — and that’s just one the multiple characters played by a small ensemble. That kind of range, speed, and transformation on stage is thrilling to watch and shows off pure, unfiltered talent.
Tickets are available online at https://indydistricttheatre.vbotickets.com/events. General admission is $28, students & seniors $23.
