State Announces Energy Saver Program

INDIANA — Hoosiers are interested in how they can save energy and cut costs now more than ever. To meet this growing need, the Indiana Energy Saver Program will assist Hoosiers in reducing their energy costs and improving home comfort through energy efficiency upgrades. With the support of roughly $182 million in federal funding, Indiana will provide two rebate offerings through a single application process to maximize the benefits to Hoosier households. Through this program, participants will receive the rebate in the form of a discount on the eligible products and installation completed by a qualified contractor.
The Home Efficiency Rebate (HOMES) provides cost savings to all Hoosiers, including single family and multifamily residents, on whole-home retrofits achieving a minimum of 20% energy savings. Eligible upgrades include ENERGY STAR-certified heating and cooling, ENERGY STAR-certified water heaters, insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, appliances, lighting, and Home Appliance Rebate (HEAR). The Home Appliance Rebate (HEAR) provides additional cost savings to low- and moderate-income households earning less than 150% of the Area Median Income in single family or multifamily residential units.
The program can help more households, particularly low- and moderate-income families to cut energy costs and improve quality of life. This program helps homeowners, tenants, and landlords save on energy-efficient upgrades like heat pumps, electric appliances, and insulation. By covering a significant portion of project costs and offering additional rebates for major energy savings, these programs make it more affordable to improve home energy efficiency, lower utility bills, and create more comfortable living spaces.
