INDIANAPOLIS — The first week of March is the final week to experience the spectacular traveling exhibition of Native glass sculptures, Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight. The last day to see it at the Eiteljorg is Sunday, March 9. This multimedia exhibition with video projection and soundscape features more than 60 illuminated glass sculptures by acclaimed artist Preston Singletary (Tlingit) that retell a story from oral tradition from Tlingit people of the Pacific Northwest Coast. The exhibition is included with regular Eiteljorg admission; museum members get in free. In conjunction with the Preston Singletary exhibition, the Eiteljorg will host an outdoor demonstration of hot blown-glass making, taking place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday March 8 on the museum grounds. The demonstration is included with regular admission.
A new exhibition is now open at the Eiteljorg: Voices from the Arctic: Contemporary Inuit Art. It features more than 80 compelling works – including sculptures and prints – by Inuit artists from the northernmost edge of North America. Voices from the Arctic continues daily for more than a year. Also now open at the Eiteljorg an exhibit of a large installation art piece, fashioned of barbed wire, titled Radio, by artist Richard Swanson; it will be open through fall 2025. Both exhibitions are included with regular museum admission and are free for members.
