INDIANAPOLIS — The Perry Township / Southport Historical Society will hold a celebration of Center Church’s 175th anniversary during their meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Perry Township Education Center, 6548 Orinoco Ave. Enter through the center doors at the northwest corner of the building.
In 1849, back in the early days of Perry Township, two small congregations merged to form Center Methodist Church. The September meeting of the Perry Township/Southport Historical Society features Dan Rasmussen, Center Church’s senior pastor. He has discovered some interesting documents about this congregation and the surrounding area. Everyone is invited in for an evening of stories and conversation.
