Glendale Branch Library Wins Award

INDIANAPOLIS — The Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library has received the Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Indiana in the category for​ new construction projects costing greater than $5 million. This recognition is part of AIA Indiana’s Design Awards program, where a jury of peers selects projects by leading Indiana-registered architects that exemplify design excellence.
The 24,800-square-foot branch, located at 3660 E. 62nd St., opened to the public on March 30. The facility features drive-up material returns, a community meeting room with a 100-person capacity, and rooftop solar panels that generate 71% of the building’s electricity. Designed for LEED Gold Certification, a globally recognized symbol of sustainability, the project was managed by Powers & Sons Construction Co. with krM Architecture+ serving as the architect.
