Bike to Work Day is May 17

INDIANAPOLIS — Grab your helmet, slip on your elbow pads, and air up your tires to join the nation as we take on the opportunity to bike to work on Friday, May 17. The rides will take place between 7-9 a.m.
National Bike to Work Day celebrates cycling as a viable mode of transportation for commuting. Bike Indianapolis, in partnership with Commuter Connect and Indy DPW, is organizing this event to spotlight the city’s extensive network of multi-use trails, advocate for alternative transportation options, and promote the overall joys and benefits of biking.
This event welcomes commuters of all ages and skill levels. Several group rides will depart from various locations throughout the city, converging at Lugar Plaza located in front of the City-County Building. Here, participants will enjoy a light breakfast courtesy of Bearded Bagel and Tinker Coffee Co., engage with vendors, and listen to speakers discuss the significance of bike commuting in our community. Light music will be provided by DJ B.A.E, a talented DJ who blends your favorite songs with iconic sounds to create memorable moments.
To join a group ride, please select the bike train as an “add-on” when you register at https://Biketoworkday2024.eventbrite.com. Please be sure to add the bike train to your ticket so that ride leaders know who and how many riders are signed up for their group. If you or someone you know is interested in leading a group ride, please reach out to Tess Woods at tess@bikeindianapolis.org.
