CUMBERLAND — Community Outreach Ministry Eastside “COME FOOD PANTRY works with many partners to help far eastside neighbors. Primary partners of “COME” are eight member churches, Meijer and Gleaners Food Bank. The food pantry serves Warren Township in Marion County as well as Buck Creek and Sugar Creek Townships in Hancock County. The food pantry is located near the county line at The First Baptist Church of Cumberland (116 South Muessing St.). The pantry is open each Wednesday from 1 – 3 p.m. COME is asking for the community’s help on Saturday March 23 during Meijer Double Day. Turn your $10 into $30 at the Meijer Store located at 11351 E. Washington St.
Customers are encouraged to purchase a $10 Simply Give donation card (located on a kiosk near the checkout lanes). Once purchased, the donation is converted into a Meijer Food-Only Gift Card and donated directly to the pantry selected by the store. The card indicates a $10 donation however, you may present one card and tell the cashier that you would like to donate any amount such as $30, $50, $100 (any multiple of 10). Each $10 donation becomes $30 donated back to COME.
COME is always looking for new volunteers for many positions. If you might be interested, please contact Stephen Denney at (317) 891-5179 or e-mail COME46229@gmail.com. Donations are most appreciated and checks may be made out to COME and mailed to: Cumberland First Baptist Church 116 S. Muessing St., Indianapolis, IN 46229
