INDIANAPOLIS — Westminster Neighborhood Services nees more volunteers to help during weekdays, especially on pantry days on Monday and Thursday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Visit their Web site, westmin.org to volunteer or to get more information.
Westminister serves the east side community bounded by Emerson to the east, Pine St. to the west, I-70 to the north, and East Washington St. to the south. They offer weekly food pantries, including a special day for seniors the third Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m.-noon. They were established in 1982. In 2014, they opened their doors, becoming one of the city’s largest food pantries. They currently partner with more than 20 community organizations to help feed the poor, provide youth services, community classes, and much more.
Their office is located at 2325 E. New York St. Call 317-632-9785 for more information about how to help.
