INDIANAPOLIS — With a unanimous vote from the Board of Directors of Edison School of the Arts, Inc. 47, Dr. Michelle Brittain-Watts was named President and CEO of the school.
“Dr. Brittain-Watts’ deep experience and successful career as a school leader in Indianapolis Public Schools, Monroe County Schools, and Hamilton Southeastern, will benefit Edison’s students, teachers, staff, and administrators, and allow them to do their very best work,” said Tanya Stuart Overdorf, Chair of the Edison Board of Directors.
Edison School of the Arts, located on the near-southwest side of Indianapolis on White River Parkway, with 600 students and 32 educators, integrates arts into its curriculum, fostering creativity and appreciation for the arts. The school includes a dance studio, black box theater, and digital design lab, along with full academic offerings.
Brittain-Watts will assume the role of President and CEO at Edison School of the Arts at the beginning of the new semester, in January 2024.
