INDIANAPOLIS — At the Back to the Future: A Mid-Century Modern Home Tour on Indianapolis’s southside on July 8 from noon-5 p.m., tourgoers can see mid-century houses and cars of the same era.
Featured automobiles include: a 1956 Lincoln Premiere, 1957 Ford Thunderbird, 1958 Buick Super, and many others.
Indiana Modern’s annual Back to the Future tour presents five Mid-Century Modern properties dating to the 1950s on Indianapolis’s southside, including private residences and a Modernist standout turned event center.
Back to the Future is presented by Indiana Modern an affinity group of Indiana Landmarks that works to preserve and promote the best of mid-twentieth century architecture, design, and landscapes across the state. On the day of the tour, check-in at tour headquarters, Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 South Meridian St. (SR 135), to exchange your Eventbrite receipt for a program with map. The tour takes place rain or shine. Some sites have stairs between levels and are not fully accessible to all. The tour will last approximately 2 hours, depending on how much time you spend at each site. No shuttle service will be offered. On-street parking is available at each stop, but carpooling is encouraged.
